All jewelry displayed on this | TestimonialsI had the distinct pleasure of organizing a fund raising event for the Medina County Historical Society, at which Mari Halkovich was the featured speaker. “Glitz & Glamour in the White House” was a great success!! Due to Mari’s subject matter, we had a very large turnout on a summer Sunday. What woman doesn’t want to learn more about jewelry?? Mari’s program is educational, provocative, and features real vintage jewelry. We all learned a lot about the Ohio first ladies, the times in which they lived, and their jewelry. With Mari’s program as our draw, we also made money for the historical society.
Barbara Dzur Mari presented her program on "Glitz and Glamour in the White House" to a group at the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland. She was enthusiastic, informative and entertaining; and she answered all questions. Mari shared many intriguing accessories that women would have worn during the time each Ohio First Lady was residing in the White House. We received many compliments on our program. Everyone was impressed with Mari's knowledge, her artifacts and her manner of presentation.
Coyne Quinn We had Dr. Mari Halkovich at our community clubhouse for a luncheon where she spoke. The ladies loved it! It was fun and informative. Dr. Mari was wonderful to work with and provided a delightful afternoon giving us great information about the First Ladies from Ohio. She is very knowledgeable, a wonderful speaker and her collections are great to look at! A very hands on experience! We highly recommend Dr. Mari for a wonderful outing for your next social function!
Lucy McFarland I have known Mari for several years on a personal basis and had the occasion to ask her to present her program on Ohio's Presidential First Ladies for an organization I belong to. She was completely professional in letting me know what she would need for the presentation. She adapted her program to the audience's needs and was very well versed on the topic, answering questions that were posed. She was able to bring the women she was talking about alive as well as showing objects of interest from the era. Several women in the audience were interested in booking her for other organizations.
Jean Manning Mari did a wonderful presentation at the Medina County District Library. The jewelry was exquisite, but her knowledge of the time and history impressed us the most. Mari didn’t rely on notes, but had an incredible recall of the history of the jewels and the people connected with them. She has an extensive collection and a charming way of relating the history of the time period.
It was a very enjoyable and informational couple of hours and we continue to have library members commenting on the very worthwhile program. I would (and have) recommend her program to others.
Betsy Gilder When Dr. Mari Halkovich came up to our library for her “Glamour in the White House – Jewelry and Fashion of the Ohio Presidential First Ladies” program, it was a very memorable afternoon. She created wonderful displays of period clothing and jewelry. Before the program began, the patrons were able to browse among the displays. Once she started her program, it was impossible to not get lost in her stories of how the American First Ladies influenced fashion. With each first lady she spoke of she passed around trays of jewelry or hair accessories for the audience to admire. Obviously, Dr. Halkovich is an expert on the first ladies she speaks of. But her talent is in making these women come alive for the audience.
Immediately after the program several other women were asking Dr. Halkovich about doing this program at other organizations. I highly recommend this program.
Ann Malthaner Glitz and Glamour in the White House is something that I know most ladies are interested in hearing about...and Mari provided the opportunity! I was fortunate to have Mari speak at my Red Hatters Luncheon, and her presentation about the history, jewelry and fashion of the Ohio Presidential First Ladies was phenomenal. She not only displays antique jewelry, but shows pictures of the first ladies and tells about their lives.
Cindy Jeric I met Mari five years ago at Hartville Flea Market. Over the years she has sold her vintage jewelry at my yearly events for women. Her knowledge of vintage jewelry and professional, easy going manner have gained her a steady flow of repeat customers.
I had the privilege of hosting the initial launch of her "History, Jewelry & Fashion of Ohio Presidential First Ladies" at my April 2010 event. Her knowledge and attention to detail on her presentation was extensive and presented in an interesting and attention holding manner.
I had no reservations in hosting the program for the first time, as I knew Dr. Halkovich would present a first class, well researched and interesting program. Needless to say, the "History, Jewelry and Fashion of the Ohio Presidential First Ladies" program was well received, as Dr. Halkovich continues to receive bookings for this outstanding program.
