Program Information

HISTORY, JEWELRY AND FASHION OF THE

OHIO PRESIDENTIAL FIRST LADIES

My presentation includes the following segments:

1. Power Point presentation with photos of each woman and photos of various pieces of jewelry from their personal collections. My research has taken me to the archived collections of Ohio’s First Ladies, and I have been permitted to photograph their jewelry and accessories for this presentation.
   
   
2. Pass-around display cases of antique jewelry, and accessories from my own collection. These items illustrate jewelry from the time period of each woman. I have display cases of hair combs, mourning jewelry, handkerchief pins, jewelry made of hair, cameos, coral jewelry, etc.
   
   
3. Tabletop displays, which may include the following:  Fans, especially feathered ones, Detachable lace collars and other vintage clothing, Aigrettes, Tiaras, Books about the First Ladies, Photos and other memorabilia, Stereo photo cards and viewer.

Requirements:  I will need a large table on which to display the above-listed items. I will also need use of a screen for the Power Point presentation. I bring my own projector and laptop. My presentation will be 30-35 minutes in length. Speaking fees begin at $75.00.
